The “Jazmine Moon” CD started by accident really. One evening, after working on the “Atmospheres of Paradise” CD, we went out to dinner and stumbled upon a group of Jazz musicians playing outside the restaurant, surrounded by swaying coconut palms, sand and sea. They
sounded great! Soprano Sax, 2 guitars, Conga Drums, and occasional vocals. Sitting
and listening as the sky turned crimson and the sun set into the sea, we got to chatting together.
All had been seduced by the inspiring beauty here and had found it difficult to leave, as had I. But it turned out one of them had fallen on hard times, as someone had broken into his home and stolen everything, including his instruments. On impulse, I suggested they come into my studio for a couple of weeks and record a quick benefit CD for him, thinking they could sell it at their gigs around the island.
To make a long story short, the brief two week project turned into 9 months of in depth recording and I got involved playing, arranging and producing. It was a blast, and it turned out great! And the story has a happy ending as the musician has his instruments back and is living happily ever after.
